I have designed the organisational structure of supevisory and planning board. Please click Supervisory and planning board to see in pdf file. To come back in this page you can use back arrow.

From the discussion so far conducted among friends in this blog, I came up with slightly amended idea. The chart above shows the organisational structure of supervisory board which will unite the intellectual Nepalis in different fields around the globe. The branches or departments in the chart are only examples. We can add some and remove some as needed after discussion. My vision of developing needy or underprivileged villages of Nepal in sustainable way gives emphasis on optimum use of expertise knowledge and technical skills from individuals (Nepalese and foreign individuals but not foreign organisations whose ultimate fund provider is one of the governments in the world) using the information technology (internet).

The organisational structure designed aims to bring more intellectuals together and discuss the matter in depth in certain fields. The team of experts in their department will study the ground reality of the village (can be town or city as well) and recommends the method of addressing them to uplift the condition. The recommended method will be discussed among other departments to find out whether the proposed plan is sustainable in every possible way or not. Once the supervisory board passes the recommendation of one department, goes into implementation through local committee formed by local people. The experts from different department will also write articles for discussion regularly by focusing on the development in their fields.

Other objective of this organisational structure is to raise fund regularly from members. Small amount of money will be raised every month and will be spent when project goes into implementation. Donation by members will be optional. Who cannot donate regularly but want to help with their expertise knowledge and skills will be included in the executive membership. The donation information will be posted in blog or forum regularly.

Once we decide to implement the plan recommended by one department and approved by other departments, we will invite Nepali people around the world to donate in public forum.

After discussion in this blog with friends and Mr SateLite (I know him only with this name) who initiated this kind of discussion in www.mysansar.com blog, we will post proposal to invite likeminded friends to unite in the name of sustainable development.

We will also discuss in this post about compliance aspect to register an organisation. It may be out of country or within. The organisation will remain as supervisory and planning board. In the local level organisations will be registered as required or only through local community without registered organisation which depends on the nature of work we run in local level.

More discussion will be in comments section. This is the continuous process of discussion. Aim of this post is to attract different views and to choose the best in rational ground. This idea is entirely mine and can be rectified if needed.

Please leave comments as this blog doesn’t have any meaning without your view.

This post aims to enable friends around the globe to discuss who are interested in philanthropy and social works in sustainable way in Nepal with their expertise knowledge and skill as well as their financial support when required. For those who are new and have not seen my brief proposal document about sustainable development, please click Sustainable development for rural areas in Nepal pdf to view in web or click Sustainable Development for rural areas in Nepal to download the vision chart in word file.

The following texts are the discussions so far has been conducted about the vision from me and different friends via emails. I started in this blog rather than in emails because this is more transparent and interactive way at the same time saving time of all.

I will start from my comment which I made under the proposal article of fund raising for Julie Pariyar by SateLite in Mysansar blog (www.mysansar.com). Following my comment I will put email conversations so far held from and to me.

“I appreciate your work in the past. I rarely comment in Mysansar blog but I have read your work in the past in this blog. I know you are motivated and have passion to work for the society without having any self interest.

Mind you, my aim is not to oppose your campaign of raising money for Julie. I have done few works in the past which makes me proud somehow but my experience came as follows.

However, we all have different views. They say great minds hardly agree with each other. You brought wave in my mind because I have been brain storming about the restructuring of the society.

Bottom line is to create equal opportunityto all fellow citizens in the country. What I m saying the innocent kid born in plough person(hali) for his owner should have equal opportunity as the kid born in the owner’s house in basic needs of food, shelter, cloth, education and health. Equal opportunity does not mean everyone should perform equally. We need to work for the sustainable development so that we don’t need to help individually to Julie.

In my view we should not bug down into detail without out knowing the big picture first. I don’t like the NGO type of work because this is not the way of sustainable development but making people dependent to other. NGOs and INGOs want always to wait for them. And they don’t just make people of poor countries wait for them for food but they are the source of intelligent information to their government from the poor society hence they are the main huddle of development. Lets not get confused when they go with smiley face with food. If we want real development, we must start to be independent.

I wrote in my personal website few weeks back about the changes required and why. The present political and social system produces lots of Julies. Lets go to fact of the world. 2 percentages of the world population controls more than 50 percentages of the resources (wealth), 20 percentages consumes 80 percentages of resources in the world. 1 billion people go to bed without food everyday which is 1 in every 6 people in the world.

Let’s see what is going on inside our country. Our country’s situation is worse than the whole world’s situation. We have heard there is no rice even to worship in coming festival in Karnali district and other remote areas. We read news people queuing up for kilo rice collapsed on the line. 100s of our brothers and sisters died due to poor quality rice distributed by INGOs.

Let’s find out what is the root cause of the problem. Let’s not look in our own perspectives and self interest but think whole society as your body. In my opinion from the study so far I did is unequal distribution of world resources and wealth is the main root cause.

In the context of Nepal, we have inappropriate allocation of lands. The people who have no other skills than working in land have no land. They are landless and work for others. They sleep with hungry stomachs after working whole day in other’s land. How can we think about the education of the kid born in such a family? Since they have no land there is no peace of mind in the parents and cannot provide appropriate environment to kids for study even we help few Ruppes to the kid’s education. Can we think broadly? The opportunity is not equal to those kids in under privilege families even we provide money to them. Lets not argue showing exceptions, I m talking about most of the case. There are some student came from under privilege family have done well, that is the exceptional case.

Anyone has same thoughts? Want to work not for name, fame and money but to build society providing equal opportunity to every person in the country and in the world through sustainable development, let’s discuss the matter for changes. I have passion and energy for it. Anyone?

At last to Satellite, try your best for your campaign.

Thank you for excellent comment.

Can you share some of your ideas, how can we change our society and what are your thoughts.

Julie’s education fund raise campaign is just our starting point, we can go organizationally and more managed
in future for other projects. There are several NGOs and INGOs working in remote areas but still our people are
poor, uneducated and they are out of basic human needs.

Please share your thoughts and experiences.”

“Hi introvert,
I appreciate your thoughts although it was highly irrelevant with the issues raised by Satellite. However, we should actually think about doing something concrete, i mean ideas should be put into practice. I am ready to contribute from my side all i can but we need more discussion and networks to develop. But what could be first done is the big question. Let us start discussing over that and see how it turns out.
Hope to hear and share more intellectual thoughts …..!
I already wrote in my comment that we will work without getting involved in politics. We form a team which will exclude the people who are actively involved in politics in the past or/and have intention to get involved in any political party after the reputation of working with us. However, we will work closely with all political parties in local level without prejudice.
Thanks for your interest. I will send you a word document in a while.”

Actually I am working at Qatar as a assistant civil engineer since 5 year. During this period I am facing here a big problem of many more nepalese workers trapped by human trafficker. We are active by coordination Nepalease Embasy & our social organization.

Bhibusan Karki writes:

“Hi Introvert,
Your model of Sustainable development for rural areas of Nepal was worth reading but it is too vague to sown seeds of development in strict sense. Such comprehensive model has been published time and again and it will be hard to address the sub topics you have divided although it needed to be addressed as soon as possible for overall development paradigm. Practically it is not possible to cover and it is just theory…you talked about creating equal opportunity but how? that is the question which haunts me every night. What can be done, that creates equal opportunity…who needs equal opportunity….on what scale they need it? what are the parameters? The very concept you produced are noteworthy but all these are almost how NGO’s does…incorporating big ideas and theories……but to no avail.
With due respect….your co operative schemes like that of Bangladesh could be tried but after thorough study…..Nepal is diversified unlike Bangladesh in terms of caste, culture, religion, land and so forth. But some sort of mechanism to involve people;s participation is indeed significant for long term impact. We can think about how such mechanism could be developed and where it could be developed…it is a highly contextual matter, in my understanding. Opening an organisation is needed for the bureaucratic purpose so we cannot avoid it….but the most important thing i felt initially to be done is the feasibility study of the place or village we want to create as a model. We need to first visit the village, stay there and understand social and anthropological aspect, what people want in that village? What are they involved in so far? How is their livelihood status? What interest them, how the social and local institution work in that village? What could possibly done best for the people, which they would ultimately cherish after our departure. Creation of system is very important for sustainable development. For example….if most of the villagers are into agriculture profession we have to go and study….what are they growing? how are they growing? what could be best possible way to upgrade the production? how is the market scenario? so forth….! Then perhaps we can come into conclusion what is pertinent for the villagers and what we need to do for the upsurge of local community. Once we set the system people will follow and gradually other aspects of development will follow or could be thought considering. Nothing will work unless people mitigate their needs of survival….how to accomplish that; is a matter of study….!
So my suggestion would be….let us gather at some point in Nepal or get united……few months and few hundred thousand sacrificed for the sake of research……then once we come up with some finding and know about the particular village or location …we search for the donors through internet or organisation…..We will than need some amount for expertise suggestions and field visit…..many things are already there in our villages, what is missing is the linkage between them….We can act as a role of facilitator…!
I am ready to contribute 1 year of mine for the sake of research and finding…..financing myself for that purpose. What do you say? what does other friend say about it? We need a credible face to support us back in Nepal…we need to build up network in Nepal…..let us work out …i am super excited…and i am ready mentally and physically to do something…..If it materialize and even if we could change one village ….i would consider my life worth living 1000years.
Lets discuss lets share……let us talk with mysansar and satellite to open a forum in that blog for sharing and discussing our ideas and enthusiasm.
With Regards,
Bibhu”

Intorvert replies:

“Hello Bibhusan ji
Thank you for your time and thoughts on my vague vision on sustainable development. I read your thoughts and really appreciated because we need this kind of discussion before we implement the plan. Mind you, we are in very initial stage of discussion and we are not going to start work as most of the city based NGOs do. Only we can start this project if we belive we can make difference.

The presented chart is the bigest picture of our plan.I have not even defined the points I put in the chart. I need to define the idea behind those points. The points are themselves vague. I sent that to all friends to know their view. We are open to discussion, we will learn from others. One head is never enough for everything. We need expertise knowledge and skills too. Overall what we have energy and passion to work for change. We are educated and studious people. I want friends like you who can discuss the matter and reach into conclusion. We need to be objective too.

I agree with you, we will conduct feasibility study before going into action. In this stage we are not in that level but discussion is always welcome. We can divide the roles among us and take responsibility of one area for study based on the expertise we have. I assure you that I m not doing this for cheap popularity or for job. We(including you) are capable people and we wouldnt waste our time for this kind of things if we didnt have passion in the area.

We will make plan breaking down into smaller area. We will study the fact of the village about what we can do. The plan cannot be implemented without the involvement of local people. We will use the technique of change management. We start this from a village where we are familiar with the facts. We also put on front the person who can persuade the public for change, lets say change agent. We can devise plan because we have interest. We can study the matter because we have young engetic brain. Lets join hands together to be proud of Nepali.

The chart is there because we need to see the impact of all areas listed in chart(even possibly more) while working in one area, that is the idea behind the sustainable development. Its not all about uplifting people life just in terms of economy.

Hope to hear from you soon.

“Hi Introvert( would be good to know your name),
Well i appreciate your concern and i believe we can make a difference at least an honest initiation could be taken…success and failure does not bother me. Actually, those who are in touch with you should share the emails with each other and we should circulate all emails and thoughts every time we write something. So it would be kind of you if you send around CC mail and make the process transparent.
It is also very necessary now to have everyone’s formal introduction and background so that we could condition our mind as accordingly. ‘Commitment’ is the biggest sacrifice….people can donate money but not time and labour….so i am more concerned and worried ….provided one year time to think and discuss…how many of us will be actually ready to be in Nepal and spare some time???….Might be an ambitious question but then inevitable in my understanding.
The forum has begun….!
Yes Satelite ji,
I don’t have idea how to put that chart in website or blog either in flash or something. I bet you are far better than me in computer applications. I designed that just to know the views of other friends before going further details. I will define those points in few days after i receive comments from other friends. After that we will put the issue for discussion in public. I need your help. You may need to redesign in Nepali and put in blog for discussion. Lets get prepared for that first. As i wrote earlier that is only vision and covers wide scope. It is necessary to keep in mind the impact of those areas while we work in particular area to make the difference in longer term.
I wish your safe and comfortable journey to the USA. I m here in London, UK. If you have any plan to come over here, I would love to meet you. I m sending you chart of my vision which is certainly vague to look but that is the big picture behind our plan. We are in very beginning stage of discussion. This idea just came up after the discussion in mysansar blog. So we are going to break down our plan into smaller scope within the bigger scope. I want you to note, the word file I m sending is our aim in longer term. We have not set our objectives yet. After setting up our objectives we will know what to do then we will move further about how to do then goes to action by making procedures. We will go through the several stages of planning and discussion in every steps. I will provide blog in few days to discuss openly with all of the friends who are connected so far.
Please find attached files. Both files have same contents, try another if one doesnt open.

I think one of the reasons we fall behind is that everyone blows their own trumpet and does not want to work or contribute to the bases others have created.
We can all work together under the foundation. We can modify and craft issues and ideas.

I did go through the stuffs you sent me and to me it seems like a very vague and idealistic appproach. I think things ought to rest on ground reality than just this nice bookish approach of how we ought to do things. I think we are all aware what needs to be done and my argument is that why not support the ones like ours and move ahead than creating new ones. Are we not fragmenting ourselves by this ?
My aim is not to frangment. I have not started anything. You are doing at least something but I came up with one idea and you come with different one. We can discuss and choose the best or consolidate . I dont want to force anyone to come under my umprella. If someone wants to do it and have better idea, always welcome.I m transparent to you all. You have seen CC of all emails, if you have better idea, you can write other friends. I wont mind. I just want to see something in sustainable way so that our generations wont regret for what we done. The vision is vague obviously because we are in early stage of finding out mission. After mission we can discuss our objectives. After finding out the objective will give idea about What we want to do. Once we find out what to do then next stage comes how to do. Then next step is to go into action. We cant mess up everything in one go. Lets be systematic. We are not just an entrepreneur to grab opportunity. We are talking about sustainable development.

I wish you will write your real name in next email.

I read your draft plan of sustainable development aimed at rural Nepal. I appreciate your idea.

Introvert jee, the vision of your plan building independent prosperous society with sustainable development programmme is the need of the hour but I think we as an individual or an organization can’t carry out all the activities mentioned on the plan. To succeed we have to be more specific and focused in one area ie; education or agriculture or micro finance etc. We have to have one primary programme and to make it sustainable we can have other supporting programmes as well. Certainly we can assist the government or we can establish a good example for other society, individual or to the government itself but can’t carry out the job of a government.

Let’s focus in one area like education. Primary education or tertiary education or can be both. Let’s launch awareness programmes followed by some supportive programmes to bring all the children to schools. Since the school education is free, we have to focus on awareness and some income generation programmes. Similarly, let’s support the family of talented students who has completed secondary school with outstanding result but unable to continue their further study. We can launch the proramme to enable the family of talent students so they can afford the study of their children so their children will not compel to give up their desire to study or they will not miss their desire to study and unlock their potentiality. We can discuss later about the supporting programmes to make our works sustainable. Let’s discuss first about what we can do.

Warm RegardsT. Kandel Amsterdam”

Introvert writes to Thaneswar Kandel:

“Dear T Kandel
I agree with you. I want this kind of discussion. You raised some questions on my vision. I want my aim to be discussed thoroughly because this idea is not the one which already brought in practical life. This is my thought. That’s why I want more and more people to discuss from different angles. I am clear in my vision and can answer the questions so far but one head is never enough.

We discussed few issues before you joined in the discussion. I will try to put all of the emails conversations in blog once I am ready so that everyone can see what discussion held in the past.

I already wrote in that theory, we don’t have full power to exercise in all areas but we will work despite the constraints and limitations. The government in the country can exercise most of the areas. So the aim is to give pressure to government by bringing awareness in the society. If the government brings unsustainable project and that doesn’t benefit the society in large, people in the society will resist it if they have awareness. Awareness in rational way will be one of the biggest achievement. .

Another objective of this vision is to look all the area of developments as shown in the chart(possible more areas) need to be looked if we are going to work in one of the areas. As you say to concentrate in one area like education. Yes we can do that but while we are working in one area we need to study in other parts of the sustainable development as well.

My vision doesn’t tell that we need to start all the areas of development simultaneously and some area doesn’t need money to develop. For example Legal and ethical development can be done through awareness and building trustworthy society. The development work in one sector eg education need to help to develop other areas as well but should not hit negatively. The big picture of the vision should be put in back of the mind while working one of the area under development arm.

how are you?
I really appreciated hard work of introvert creating such a plan to uplift poor nepali community. Personally it is a sample of our community. The topic which is discussed in the projects are top class and there is no doubt that you have got an idea how you want our community . This plan should be carried out by state rather that public like us which big fund and labor, i am not trrying to demotivat your work just trying to clearify it is a big project.

on the otehr side it is big plan so we willbe needing large number of people to get involved and money.
here what i am trying to explain you we should focused in one topic or work and carry out in small unit to start once we suceed in one or two then we can catch the big agenda.

before doing anything we have to do our own homework which makes thing easy and smooth going rather than hanging up the plan once started.

lastely i do not know you personally and your background, experience and age but whatever you have something in mind to do something for country and people.

“Thank you Kailash Ji
I already wrote to one of the friends and CC to all. I am going to repeat again. The vision of sustainable development(SD) largely focuses on bringing awareness in the society. awareness is the step forwards to the SD. SD is not the idea to develop only economic indicators ignoring rest of the development indicators. We want sustainable society, sustainable environment and rest of the development branches.

I already wrote to friends, my idea of SD is big picture and this can be implemented larger scale if the government of the country wants. Government in one country has also limitations somewhere. The country also be affected from world’s environment. However, we can make difference in the society despite the limitations and constraints by being the model so that it will be followed in other parts of the country. awareness is important.
As we said we can start from one small area of development. I agree with you but what is my point is , we need to study the impact on SD of that kind of work or development. We need to ask whether the work in one are is assisting the development in other area. We can see the example of ecological appraisal before providing construction permission of hydro project in Nepal. SD idea can be taken as ecological appraisal but SD is broader than ecological appraisal idea.

I will elaborate the points in my chart very soon. The dashain and other stuffs are holding me back.

I received the following poem as a comment from a blog visitor. Her name is Rubina. Hope I have permission to disclose her name here in my blog. Have a read.

“When my life was a roller coaster,
You promised to be there, and you did.
You held on to me afraid that I will fall again.
You guided me out of the tunnel when I couldn’t see in the dark,
When I didn’t know which direction to go.

When I was tired,
You took a rest with me,lending me your shoulder to lean on.
You lend me a listening ear when you know I had so much to say.
You didn’t complain,you didn’t whine.
You just stayed on till I was ready again.

When I fell again,
You didn’t scold me,didn’t give up on me.
You made me make a promise,
But when I broke it,you were still patient with me.
You taught me new things, many lessons on how to treasure and appreciate.

When I finally stood up strong,
You told me you are proud of me.
I was touched and I know I couldn’t let you down anymore.
I made a decision to move on,to look forward,to look on the bright side.
So here I am, a totally different person!

Thank you my friend…

Another Poem from Rubina here again,
I peered thru life
Ever avoiding strife
But now I’am done
My barriers broken, for one has found me
Reached in and unbound me.

His love has made me feel alive
In everything I feel Ican survive
His need for me and mine for He
Has made a bright sunshine everyday

A nice new start
With hammering heart
We colored the world w/ our dream
Nothing is as it did seem
The darkness of my solitude is done
He is my rising Sun.

But I know that time will come
Coz something has been said and done
The sunshine and dream will be over
And evrything will be gone forever.

Yes, life is so unfair…

Rubina”

Thanks Rubina for your great comment. I have lots of things in my mind to write and there are few pages as draft in the blog which are not published yet as I need to give them shape. I am not so busy but I need to sort out few things. I start writing about something, either it becomes too long and can’t figure out how much detail to write about the issue or I need to read more facts and figures about the issue. I always move to new issue without completing what I started. Thats why those articles remain in drafts. I will take some comments from you and try to give new things to the blog visitors.

Your creations are welcome in the future too.

Changes required in the world for mainly two reasons. Firstly to save the earth and secondly to feed the hungry stomachs.

As experts said this earth is few billion years old. Human destroyed billion years old earth in just two thousands years in such a way animals and plants will no longer survive after two hundreds years if this trend continues. As I believe in evolution, the human has the most developed brain among animals. Using the relatively powerful brain, human started to take control over other animals. Used them as their food and made them work for human. This could happened because the human learned how to use weapons to kill other animals and stay safe from them. Human started to live in unnatural way which caused ecological imbalance in the earth. Thousands of species started to vanish which used to be regulator of ecosystem to keep this earth livable for all kind of living beings. Excessive emission of toxic gases and liquids destroying several species, destroying the ozone layer, Snow turning into liquid, the ice layer in the sea is getting thinner day by day, the sea level is coming up, water in the rivers is decreasing and some rivers have no water at all, the natural diasters are more often due to the imbalance in the environment, the epidemic threats such as avian flu and swine flu are spreading due to over production in unnatural way and so on.

So changes required to keep proper harmony with the nature by avoiding the means which can cause the further damage to this earth. The over production and the freely allowed businesses without studying the impact to the ecosystem need to be stopped for the sake of all living beings including human and the coming generations. The greedy and filthy rich people are the main cause of this damage. The money earned creating the damage to the earth should be used to reversal of the system. The investment is environmental friendly technology has to be made. The usage of green technology such as solar energy should be promoted by the governments.

After taking control of other animals, greedy human started to take control of fellow human as well after few hundreds years of human civilisation. The irrational beliefs are imposed to fellow human by clever human to control over the mass. Now this is known as “religion”. Almost all society has got this kind of irrational beliefs. The religion in the society is based on the imagination are not based in same imagination. Some believe in some kind of imagination and other disagree in their imagination. The bottom line of any religion is irrationality. The right of imagination is not allowed by one group to another. Each group claims their imagination is right imagination and everyone should follow the same. The fight over imagination is the threats to the earth as each of the imagination claimers holds the atomic or nuclear weapons to destroy this earth few times.

Another reason for change is to feed hungry stomachs and fulfil their basic needs of food, shelter, cloth, education and health.

One in every six people in this earth goes hungry while 50% of grain produced in this earth is used to feed animals and produce bio fuel. 2% of the earth population controls the 50% of wealth. 20% of population consumes 80% of resources in this earth. Resource rich country like Nigeria which is largest oil producer in Africa has 70% people under poverty line according to UN measure. The local people have no access to their local resources. They live in slums nearby the oil extraction site while the oil extracted from their locality worth billion of dollar. The gap between rich and poor is increasing very fast for last 50 years. If this trend continues there will be 200 million refuges by 2050 while small percentage of population will turn into multi billionaires at the same time.

The distribution of wealth and access to resources is not properly managed by the government of the countries in the world. Rich countries spend 12 times more money in military expenditure than aid to poor nations. It is the happiness of some and same time misery of others. This is not a direction of sustainable development while one part of the society is paralysed.

So, let’s think where we are going and where should have headed. Changes are inevitable to save the earth by mitigating production of toxic matters in short term and eliminating them in longer term. We also have threats to this earth from irrational thoughts which producing extremists from most of the parties of irrational groups (Religious groups).

To bring changes to feed hungry stomachs, some political commitments is required from governments of the countries in the world.

What we call good and bad, right and wrong are vague words themselves if you don’t justify your words further. This article tends to give few theories which could be helpful to specify further to judge whether the matter or action is morally right or wrong. There are following two approaches.

De ontological approach -also known as non consequentialists theory. This theory is derived by Emmanuel Kant. In this theory action is important. Human decides what is wrong and write. This theory describes human is rational and considers all principles of livings, that can be laws regulations and ethical values.

There are further three elements or maxims to test. If all three are satisfied the action is morally right.

1. Consistency- Action can be right if everyone follows the same underlying principles , for example murder is immoral because if that were moral no human would exist. lying is immoral because there would be no ‘truth’ word if other way round.

2. Human dignity- Human should treat other Human with respect, for example if someone selling turmeric powder(beshar) approaching door to door in Kathmandu. People call him, “Hey ‘beshare’”. Yes, he sells beshar and his body is coated with beshar , he looks yellow but he is human as the buyer. Respecting him and treating him a human, not beshare, is human dignity.

3. Universality- The concept is the action is right if the action taker will be comfortable when their action is brought in world media and people of the world think that is ‘right’.(but dont forget lots of misinformation in media especially the media controlled by rich countries. Most of the people in the world watch or read headline news and they make decision, some are into ‘celeb and footy’ culture only . I am, personally, doubtful in this concept). This has got link with maxim consistency as well.

Teleological approach- This is also called consequentialists theory. In this theory outcome or consequence is important. If the ourcome is beneficial for the individuals and greatest number of the people in the community the action deems right. For example Maoists run violent ‘People war’ can be justified ‘right’ based on this theory if Maoists bring positive changs in terms of political, social and economic structure in the country. On the other hand that deems ‘wrong’ if they fail to work for the people.

There are two sub theories to test.

1. Egoism- Action is morally right if the decision maker decides in order to pursue their desire or interest at the same t the outcome will benefit the society or that is the desire of the society. For example, politician will not take bribe or inducement while signing contract with ADB or world bank in the project or melamchi water project because the outcome ,consequences isn’t desired by the politician (ie. losing election as former ‘big’ parties were defeated in the CA election In Nepal) and at the same time the outcome of the action of politician is desire and interest of nepali people.

2. Utilitarianism- The action is morally right if the result in the highest degree of ‘good’ for the greatest number of people affected by the action. Highest degree of good means positive part is higher than the outweigh negative effects. Mind you there is not clear positive and negative effects in the society always, it might split into two. For example building dam to produce electricity. This action might leave negative impact in ecosystem and other habitat of the animals and so on. Other side the electricity will open the opportunity of development as this is the infrastructure of several industries.

From the above discussion, the approaches and theories can be useful to decide what is wrong and what is right but still not hard and fast rule here as well. So many detailed information should be gathered and analysis required being objective to reach the conclusion in same complicated case. The decision of decision maker might vary if followed either approaches described above. The decision also will be affected either decision maker being pragmatic or absolutist.

The confusion came up in my mind few days ago about who I can say friend to and who is not. Who are real friends and who are just known people by me? I started to think but I couldn’t reach actual decision about the people who are in touch are my friends or not , or some are friends and some are not. I just thought there should be other people in this planet have that question in their mind not only me. So I typed “definition of friend” in one of the search engine. so what are the results?

I found some answers in “yahoo answer” by nick name “big red” with girl’s photo attached writes “

“A real friend will stand by your side no matter what. Like if you scream and yell at them and try to hit them they will stay there and take it and they will try to help you no matter what the problem is. They are trustworthy, loving, caring, and undersatndable. And they should be soo…. judgmental all the time like they should judge you for your problmes or anyhting. And they want let nothing get between ya’ll and this is what pep have to understand, everybody fights, freinds, lovers, families, …etc you just have to learn to forgive and forget and learn from your mistakes.”

Other female answer writer writes in the nick name CoastalC…

“A person who knows YOU…inside and out, who gives you support, advice, love, trust and whom YOU trust, love and support completely. They will NEVER judge you, or your actions, but understand your side in all things, and support your decisions even if they think they’re not good. Real friends are hard to find…so cherish any and all you have!”

.And I looked for male answer as both answers above are by female, I think male are lazy to write this kind of stuffs lol oh no at least there is, lets read then.. in the nick name of “leebow05..” writes

“The definition of a real friend to me is, someone I can trust to be honest with me , and someone I can confide in. someone who will listen when I have a problem, not just someone who wants me to listen, but when it comes to me who needs a person to talk to, they don’t listen. A friend is someone who would come to me when my boyfriend might come on to her/him. That is a true friend. I could go on, but this is what is the most important when looking for a true friend. good luck”

wow there is in video as well in youtube about definition of friends in plus there is famous tele serial called friends as well. Have a laugh…

So, there is not hard and fast rule to determine whether someone is your friend or not. Discretion still there to judge on the issue raised above. somehow it depends on the person who judge whether you feel friends to someone or not.
